Ronbus Quanta vs Refoam – First Hit Reactions I put the new Ronbus Quanta R4 head-to-head against the Refoam R4.14 for the very first time. Initial take? Crisp, powerful, and surprisingly all-court friendly. Public pre-order begins September 5, with full release on September 12. Here’s how it sounded and played right out of the box. Use code MPB if you’re grabbing one. | Matt’s Pickleball

Mark Pickleball UnMARKeD Paddle— A Work-in-Progress with Potential Didn’t love it stock—felt unstable and weak on drives. But after adding magnetic tape, it transformed—better stability, bigger sweet spot, and improved control. Still figuring it out, but this prototype has some unique potential. | Matt’s Pickleball

First Look: Thrive FURY Brings Something New? I’ve been testing the new Thrive FURY paddle—a lightweight hybrid with internal throat weighting, a 15.5mm core, and a carbon–fiberglass–carbon layup. Thrive calls it Gen 3.5, but based on the construction and play feel, I think it’s more accurate to call it a Gen 3 or Gen 3 . This paddle has a fast swing weight around 112, solid pop on full swings, and a surprisingly stable feel thanks to the embedded mass in the throat. It’s firm, but still offers

Is the Bread & Butter Filth Elongated the Closest Thing to the OG? The Filth Elongated from Bread and Butter Pickleball is here – and it’s bringing that long-awaited reach with improved forgiveness 🏓 With a swing weight of 123.35, twist weight of 6.4, and static weight around 8.21 oz, it’s the most powerful-feeling shape in the updated lineup – but thanks to its design, it’s also a touch more stable and forgiving than expected. For players who loved the OG Filth and want a bit more reach withou

Paddletek Foam Prototypes First Look: Power, High-Spin Build | Pickleball Paddle I’ve been testing the Paddletek Foam Prototypes for the past few months—PT25-1/V-1.0 14mm and PT25-2/V-1.0 16mm versions of their new Gen 4 thermoformed multi-foam core design. These paddles feature a diving board EVA structure that sits between polyurethane and EPP foam, creating a mid-power , spin-forward profile that’s noticeably different from typical foam builds. I cover how both versions play on court, the dif

New Honolulu Pickleball Paddles Just Landed — And One Spec Surprised Me Three new paddles from Honolulu Pickleball are in for testing: the J7NF (elongated), J3NF (standard), and a long-handle variant of the J2NF (hybrid). But one spec really stood out — the long handle version has a lighter swing weight than the standard, which flips the trend we saw with Vatic’s Saga Flash where the LH had higher swing weights. Full playtest coming soon. Let me know what you want to see. Use code MPB to save at

Luzz Tornazo QuickTake – Fast, Firm Foam Power Paddle The Luzz Tornazo runs $194 with code MPB and uses EPP foam core with PEBAZ edge foam for high energy return. Testing shows 74th percentile swing weight with head-heavy balance and quick pop. Delivers explosive power with short dwell time and crisp feedback. Less plush than the Inferno; better for counters, tougher for touch shots. Grit wears faster than expected. | Matt’s Pickleball

Bread & Butter Pickleball Filth Hybrid Paddle Review → Why This New Shape Might Be the Best Yet I've been testing the new Bread & Butter Filth Hybrid, and in my opinion—it’s the most balanced shape in the updated lineup. Faster than the OG, easier to maneuver, and more stable during fast hands battles. If you liked the original but wanted something a little more responsive and under control, this shape hits the mark. → Swing weight: 112.75 | Static weight: 8.06 oz | Twist weight: 6.85 → Clean, c
